The United States basically took everything away from Germany, and left them with a bad economy, they took alot of their weapons, and conqured land. Along with cars, railroads, uboats, and ways to attack other countires.
Allies didn't have to give anything up because they had won.

This only lasted 30 days .... they wanted to keep their prisioners so they could use them against them.
